Wax is a curated music streaming archive with timestamped liner notes, comments, likes, and livestream chat. This policy describes what data we collect and how it is used.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account data: email address, display name, and hashed password (or magic-link token). Required to sign in, post comments, manage shows, or participate in livestream chat.
  • Creator content: shows, liner notes, artwork, audio, and video you upload or stream, along with associated metadata (titles, tags, tracklists).
  • Public activity: comments, likes, and livestream chat messages, which are tied to your account and visible to other users.
  • Playback and technical data: basic request data (IP address, user agent) needed to serve the site and protect it from abuse. We do not build advertising profiles.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To operate the site and authenticate your account.
  • To host, transcode, and deliver shows, livestreams, and liner notes.
  • To display comments, likes, and chat to other users.
  • To maintain service quality, prevent abuse, and debug issues.

We do not sell personal data.

4. Service Providers

We rely on infrastructure providers to run the service, including Cloudflare for hosting, database (D1), object storage (R2), video streaming (Cloudflare Stream), and realtime chat (Durable Objects). Data is processed by these providers solely to deliver the service.

5. Cookies and Sessions

We use cookies only to keep you signed in and to maintain session state. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Published shows, comments, and likes remain on the site until removed by you, a creator, or a site administrator. Livestream chat is stored for the duration of the stream and may be discarded afterward.

7. Your Choices

  • You can update your profile from your dashboard.
  • You can delete individual comments or shows you have authored.
  • You can request account deletion by contacting us; this will remove your personal data and, where possible, content tied directly to your account.

8. Children

Wax is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

9. Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
