Terms of Service

1. About Wax

Wax is a curated music streaming archive where creators (DJs and artists) publish on-demand shows and livestreams with timestamped liner notes, and visitors browse, play, and participate via comments, likes, and live chat. By accessing or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

2. Accounts

You can browse most content without an account. To create or manage sets, post comments, like sets, or chat during livestreams, you must register using email and password or a magic link. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it.

3. Creator Content

If you publish sets, liner notes, artwork, or other material, you represent that you either own the rights or have the necessary permissions to make it available through Wax. You retain ownership of your content and grant Wax a non-exclusive license to host, stream, transcode, and display it as part of operating the service.

You are responsible for the accuracy of metadata, tracklists, and liner notes you publish, and for complying with any third-party rights (music licensing, artwork, samples, guest contributors).

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload content you do not have the right to distribute.
• Use the service to harass, threaten, bully, or impersonate other users, including via comments or livestream chat.
• Post objectionable content: hate speech, sexual content, graphic violence, threats, encouragement of self-harm, spam, or anything illegal.
• Attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, or playback restrictions.
• Scrape or redistribute content in ways that disrupt the service.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Zero Tolerance for Objectionable Content and Abusive Users

Wax has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Comments and livestream chat messages are filtered automatically when they are posted: messages the filter flags are hidden from everyone else or held for the creator's review.

You can report any comment or chat message, and block any user. Blocking hides that user's comments and chat messages from you, and a creator who blocks a user stops them from commenting on or chatting in the creator's sets, posts, events, and livestreams. You can unblock users at any time from your profile.

We review reports within 24 hours. We remove content that violates these Terms, and we suspend or permanently ban users who post it. Content reported by several users may be hidden automatically while it is reviewed.

Messages are private between the two people in a Conversation. When you report a Message, Wax staff may review it together with the surrounding Messages in that Conversation (we keep a copy of the reported Message and the ten before it for that purpose), and may act on it under these Terms, including by banning the sender. Blocking someone also stops Messages between you both ways.

6. Livestreams and Chat

Livestream chat messages are delivered in real time and are stored with the set afterwards, like comments. Creators may remove messages or restrict participation in their streams, and the rules in section 5 apply to chat as they do to comments.

7. Availability

The service is provided "as is" and may be unavailable from time to time due to maintenance, upstream provider issues, or other factors. We do not guarantee that sets, comments, or chat history will be preserved indefinitely.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
